Explore Your Future in Health Care Field Trip!

The Counseling Department will be taking up to 40 students (10th - 12th graders only) to the Explore Your Future in Health Care career fair on Thursday, October 8th from 9am - 10:30am. We will be taking a bus and departure will be 8:00am, return time 11:15am. This means you’ll miss 1st and 3rd blocks that day (and beginning of 5th).

There are 2 different areas students will get to explore. 

The first is an Activity Floor with about 29 hands-on stations run by hospitals, colleges, and employers, each a real thing a student does with their hands in roughly five minutes. Examples of stations include bagging a pig lung, urinalysis interpretation, blood draws and smears under a microscope, surgical gowning and gloving, glo-germ PPE work, NICU equipment and a swaddle race, concussion and reaction testing, a medical coding race, mental health safety planning.

The second is the “Next Steps” area where students can visit tables to gather information about various colleges, hospitals, training programs, scholarships, apprenticeships, jobs, certifications, and tuition reimbursement.


Spots for this field trip will be first come, first serve!  Please sign up at the link below if you’d like to attend.  The deadline to register is Tuesday, September 22nd, but registration will close as soon as we hit 40 participants, which could be before then!  More information regarding the official field trip form (which will be in Infinite Campus) will follow after registration closes.
